The MSN program is designed for the registered nurses to become more compatible with the nursing procedures, make career advancement, and set high career goals. The Post-Master's Program is designed for individuals who posses MSN degree. The program is meant to make them educator, researcher, clinician, clinical leader, and clinical consultant. The Post-master’s program prepares the individuals for more evidence-based practice, clinical research, management, and decision-making. The program is offered under various specialties. The university offers two nursing doctoral programs, Ph.D. and DNP. The DNP program puts emphasis on the expertise in the specialty area, whereas the Ph.D. program aims for a theoretical approach and research-based practice. 2. Liberty University

Established in 1971, Liberty University is one of the largest private universities located in Lynchburg, Virginia. The nursing programs at the Liberty University are offered by the College of Arts and Sciences. The School of Nursing prepares the students to become committed and compassionate nurses with Christian ethical standards, and is counted among the best undergraduate nursing schools. The students are provided with strong educational background, Biblical knowledge, social sciences, behavioral, and liberal arts, along with nursing coursework. The nursing coursework is designed to meet the standards of the Liberty University. The nursing programs offered at the School of Nursing include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program, a Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN to BSN) track, and a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) for graduate students.

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is an entry-level program for the traditional nurses. The program is approved by the Virginia Board of Nursing and is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. The nursing course includes Nursing fundamentals, Medical Terminology, Concepts of nursing, Strategies for Mental Health care, and much more. The students require 56 credits for graduation and after the graduation, the students become eligible for the state licensing exam named NCLEX-RN examination.

The RN to BSN program is designed for the registered nurses with associate or diploma certificate. In this program, the registered nurses go on to earn a BSN degree. Since the program is available only in online mode, the students are required to fill the distance learning application and fulfill all the eligibility conditions. The applicants are required to submit the official transcript for being registered nurse. After acceptance to the program, the students have 31 credits transferred to their BSN degree. The clinical training courses comprise of the student-to-faculty ratio of 10:1. The students get better attention from their educators along with positive learning environment.

The MSN program is for the registered nurses with BSN degree who wish to study further and pursue a career as a Nurse Educator. The MSN degree comprises of 36 credit hours. It takes 16 weeks to complete the program. The program is approved by the Virginia State Council of Higher Education and accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree and a compulsory 3.0 GPA or higher. The applicants must also submit a copy of their licensure of registered nurses and official undergraduate transcripts. Both the RN to BSN and MSN programs are available in online mode only that allows the nurses to study while working, adding more advantage to their profession.

3. James Madison University

Established in 1977, James Madison University is named in the honor of President James Madison. The university is located in the Shenandoah Valley. The University offers 69 undergraduate programs, 31 master’s programs, along with seven doctoral programs. James Madison University’s Department of Nursing offers nursing programs including Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN,) RN to BSN program, and Chronic illness minor. The graduate programs include Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and different Post Master’s Certificate Programs.

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program offered by the university prepares the students to write the state licensure exam, the NCLEX-RN, to become Registered Nurses. The BSN program at James Madison University is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. The BSN program curriculum comprises of the classroom sessions, clinical sessions, and laboratory work. The applicants must have 2.8 GPA or above and grade C in prerequisite courses such as Mathematics and Biology.

The RN to BSN program is designed for working Registered Nurses with an associate or diploma in nursing. The program lets the RNs pursue baccalaureate education. The program is offered through online mode only, so that the working nurses can continue their studies while working.

James Madison University offers Minor in Chronic illness under its undergraduate program. The students must hold 18 credits to pursue this minor. The essential credits include Impact of Chronic illness and Living Successfully with the Chronic illness of three credit hours. The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) is offered in five concentrations such as Nurse Administrator, Gerontological Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Nurse Leader, and Family Nurse Practitioner. The students who complete the MSN program become ready to take suitable certificate programs including Nurse Administrator Certificate, Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) Certificate, Gerontological Nurse Practitioner Certificate, Adult Nurse Practitioner Certificate and the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Certificate. The MSN program is completely accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. The students willing to enroll in the MSN program are required to hold minimum 2.8 GPA or above and GRE or AMT score along with proof of clinical experience. The applicants are also required to submit two letters of recommendation. After successful completion of the program, the students sit for the suitable post-MSN certificate exam.

1. George Fox University

Established in 1885, George Fox University was set up as Friends Pacific Academy, initially, by Quakers. The nursing programs offered by the university are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE.) The graduates of the college of nursing are prepared to take the NCLEX-RN examination for Registered Nurses. The Bachelor of Science Program is based on Christian principles and liberal arts foundation, and the BSN program is approved by the Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN.) The duration of the traditional BSN program is four years.

The admission requirements for the BSN program include minimum 2.8 GPA or above, mandatory score in TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills,) and minimum grade “C” in prerequisite courses that include chemistry, anatomy, physiology, and microbiology. Only 10 transfer students are admitted into the nursing major every year. Additionally, the students complete the clinical practice through hospitals, clinics, and other health care facilities. After completing the nursing major, the students sit for the NCLEC-RN examination to become Registered Nurses.

2. Concordia University- Oregon

Started in 1905 as a University-preparatory School, the college started adding classes in 1950. The Concordia University is a private non-profit University located in Portland, Oregon. The Undergraduate and graduate programs are affiliated with the Concordia University system and Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.

The students willing to take admission in the BSN program are required to hold 3.0 GPA or above in all science subjects in the high school. They are required to apply first to Concordia University and then to the nursing school. The students complete the core liberal arts courses and clinical practice through the school of nursing. After the graduation, the students get ready for the NCLEX-RN examination. The RN to BSN program is designed for the working RN with licensure willing to earn bachelor’s degree in nursing. The duration of the program is two years and it can be completed in part-time or full-time basis.

Concordia University Oregon also offers Master of Science in nursing program that can enhance an individual’s nursing degree and provide them career advancement. The program comprises of in-class lectures, clinical practice, and lab work. The program is conducted through distance learning. The Doctor of Nursing Practice is designed for nurses who wish to pursue high-level nursing education and become a Nurse Educator. The program can be completed online but the students need to show up at the university in the initial and final stages of the program.

1. University of Wisconsin

Founded in 1866, University of Wisconsin is a public research university located in Madison, Wisconsin, United States. It is the first and the oldest public university in Wisconsin. The campus is spread over 933 acres and includes four National Landmarks. UW Madison has over 20 schools and colleges. The university offers around 136 undergraduate majors, 148 master's degree and 120 doctoral programs. The nursing education is carried out through the UW School of nursing. The application deadline for the nursing program enrollment is February 1. The application fee for the U.S residents is $75. The School of nursing has a total of 39 faculty members.

The traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is the two-year program that provides the foundation for the entry level nursing study. The students are taught with the state-of-art technology under the supervision of experienced clinical experts. The graduates are prepared to manage hospitals, patients, conduct health care seminars, and serve in the military. On the other hand, the registered nurses with Associate’s degree or Diploma in Nursing get enrolled into the BSN at-home program, which is conducted online. The curriculum is designed for the working professionals, and the individuals enrolled in the program don’t need to sacrifice their job for the sake of education. The duration the BSN at-home program is one and a half years. The program helps in developing extra skills in the registered nurses who can expand their job prospects in the future. The University of Wisconsin offers three paths for the Ph.D. degree. The three routes include Post-bachelor’s, Post-master’s, and Entry Ph.D. option to the students enrolled in the BSN program. There is a 2:4 student-to-faculty ratio for better mentoring relationships. The students are also motivated to participate in the mentors research program right from the beginning of the program. The research scholars can choose from a wide range of specialties such as Aging, Care of children and families, Chronic illness and symptom management, and Health systems and care delivery.

2. Marquette University

Marquette University College of Nursing started in 1912. The MU college of nursing is one of the most distinguished colleges in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The nursing programs and curriculum are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education of the American College of Nurse-Midwives, the NCACSS, and the Wisconsin State Board of Nursing. Since the beginning of the college of nursing, over 7,000 students have graduated from the university. The College of Nursing offers BSN, MSN, clinical doctorate degrees, and Ph.D. in nursing. There are also dual degree programs at both graduate and undergraduate levels.

The Marquette University College of Nursing’s BSN program prepares the entry-level aspiring nurses to become leaders in health care. The university has a good track record of graduates passing the state licensure exam in the first attempt. The program has proved itself as a pillar in building the foundation of nursing among the individuals. The freshmen are admitted directly into the college of Nursing. The coursework comprises of the clinical hours and the theory classes. The degree can be completed in four years.

A joint degree option named MSN/MBA program is offered through the College of Nursing and College of Business Administration. The program requires 60 credits or five semesters to complete. The classes in this program include administration subjects. After the completion of the program, the students become eligible to take the Nurse Administrator certification exam. The registered nurses who wish to pursue MSN program can opt to do the MSN RN direct entry program, which is designed for the RNs with both associate degrees in nursing and Bachelor’s degree in nursing. After the completion of this course, the students can choose tracks such as MSN/MBA. The doctorate degree in nursing is open for BSN and MSN graduates. An RN can enroll into the DNP program, under the BSN to DNP track. The track takes three to four years to complete. A nurse enrolled in the BSN to DNP track requires earning 67 credits. The coursework for the DNP program is available full-time, and only a few classes are offered online.

A nurse with an MSN degree may earn Ph.D. in nursing by earning 51 credits. The programs can be studied full-time or part-time. The major important courses in the DNP program are conducted in the campus.

1. Purdue University

Established in 1869, Purdue University is one of the top nursing universities in Indiana that are offering nursing education in the state. The main campus of Purdue University is located in West Lafayette and the other additional campuses are located in North Central, Calumet and Indiana. The University has received accreditation by the Higher Learning commission. The nursing education is provided by the School of Nursing, which is a part of the College of Health and Human Services. The school is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE.) The resources for the nursing department are provided via the Nursing Center for Family Health and the Center for Nursing Education and Simulation.

The four-year BSN degree is meant for the entry-level nurses, and prepares the nurses for a variety of health care settings. After the completion of the program, the students take the NCLEX-RN examination for registered nurses. Meanwhile, the RN to BSN program allows the RNs to earn BSN degree through the part-time track. The applicants are required to hold 2.5 GPA or above and an associate degree in Nursing. The MSN program at Purdue University offers two specializations: MSN Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP) and MSN Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP.) There is a multidisciplinary approach towards the MSN, ANP, and PNP programs. The programs prepare the nurses to take the post-master's certification exams.

2. Bethel College- Indiana

Established in 1947, Bethel College Indiana is a private college located in Mishawaka, Indiana. The college belongs to a local consortium and works in collaboration with other big institutions. The college is affiliated to the Missionary church, which laid the foundation of the college. Bethel college is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. The BSN program and Associate degree programs are accredited by the Indiana State Board of Nursing and the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN.)

The Associate Degree in Nursing at Bethel College takes two years to complete. The program is inclined to prepare the nurses culturally and make them work in various healthcare settings. The program is offered on a full-time basis. The LPN to ADN program allows LPNs to become RNs in one year. The program lasts three semesters and one summer. The students receive credits via National League for nursing (NLN) Challenge Exam. The students may enroll into the program part-time and complete the remaining program at the Grace college.

The BSN program offered by the Bethel College is a four-year course that prepares the students for the NCLEX-RN exam to become Registered nurses. The students are required to complete two years of general course before getting admitted to the program.  The program required 126 credits for graduation. The 5 semester RN to BSN program allows the RNs to earn BSN degree while working. The program can be completed part-time. Individuals may pursue the program at Lakeland Health Care systems in Michigan and Grace college. The Master's program in nursing requires three years to complete.  The Post master's certificates are recommended for MSN holder nurses who desire in specialize in any field of nursing. The certificates are offered in Nurse Administrator specializations and Nurse Educator. The program can be completed in 15 credits.

3. Saint Mary’s College- Indiana

Founded in 1844, Saint Mary’s college is a liberal arts college located in Notre Dame, Indiana, United States. The Nursing programs offered by the Saint Mary’s college are accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC.) The nurses at St. Mary’s college of nursing are taught with Catholic tradition and believes. The BSN program is designed with the sidelines of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) and the American Nurses Association (ANA.) The college offers both traditional and accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing programs.

The duration of the BSN program is 4 years (8 semesters.) The program requires 29 credits as a prerequisite. The prerequisite courses include anatomy, biology, the foundation of nursing, and physiology. The students must hold 2.5 GPA or higher for applying to the BSN program. After successfully completing the program, the students become eligible to take the NCLEX-RN examination for registered nurses. On the other hand, the Accelerated BSN program is for individuals who already hold bachelor’s degree in a different field but are willing to pursue a further career in nursing. The duration of the program is 15 months. The course also includes two months of summer terms along with the regular sessions. After completing the accelerated BSN program successfully, the students get to sit for the NCLEX-RN examination.
